‘THE WAY YOU SPEAK TO YOURSELF REALLY COUNTS.
Ever caught yourself using words like fatty, ugly, loser, failure, lazy to describe yourself?
These words are loaded with judgment and I’m 100% sure they don’t describe any part of who you really are.
My favorite used to be the word ‘useless. I would tell myself “You’re useless!”. But why? Was there any evidence that I was really useless? The answer is no. It was just a wrong belief.
📌Beware of the quality of your self-talk.
📌Beware of the language you use toward yourself, because it gets in the way of you being able to discover, recognise and nurture the thousands of qualities and skills you have.
THIS IS SOMETHING I WANT YOU TO HEAR TODAY. PLEASE LISTEN:
💟Your self-worth is not defined by a number on the scale, the shape of your body, or your ability to complete a specific task.
💟You are the closest person to yourself, someone you can be allied with.
💟You’re the most important person to hold your hand with.
I’m telling this to myself now, while I write this here for you. Because yes, it’s something I like to remind myself everyday, especially when I stand in front of the mirror in my bedroom or I get vulnerable to be out here on social talking to you and telling you about what I do.
When you catch yourself talking to yourself like you’d do to someone you hate, try and see if you can reframe your thoughts by introducing words that carry a positive emotional mood to them; for example light, vital, vibrant, winner, free.
