The right time to love yourself

July 3, 2020

How many times have you looked ahead to a future moment where you see the potential for some kind of release of the sense discomfort you feel inside?

You know, I’m talking about that moment in the future, normally preceded by a ‘WHEN’ or an ‘IF”:

💭 If I stop eating this…

💭 When I get that job…

💭 If I move to live there…

💭When my weight will be…

💭 If I earn more money…

 THEN I WILL BE:

✅Happy

✅Successful

✅Beautiful

✅Loved

✅Valued

You name it…

Don’t get me wrong! I recognise the importance of setting goals and making plans for the future. I’m all about doing it!

What I mean here is that attaching your idea of self-worth to a certain achievement in the future or thinking you’d be happy and beautiful only if you get to a thinner body shape, can have you live a present where you don’t like yourself, or you constantly beat yourself up.

BUT, has beating yourself up ever brought you anywhere? Do you find any benefit in talking to yourself like you’d do with your worst enemy?

The bottom line is:

THE RIGHT MOMENT TO START LOVING YOURSELF IS NOW!

AND IT’S THE BUILDING BLOCK FROM WHERE TRUE CHANGE CAN HAPPEN.

It’s when you love yourself that you will want to change whatever is not serving you and you will start taking the actions in that direction.

It’s when you love your body as it is now, that you will want to take care of it and treat it with the kindness it deserves.

NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

*Would you spend time or care for someone you don’t really like?

*Why should it work differently when it comes to you?

If you need help to explore how to love yourself and your body more and take care of it with kindness, my 1:1 coaching program is for you.
