Can I eat chocolate without guilt?

Let’s talk about chocolate! Can you eat it without guilt?

You can relax. I’m not here to tell you what, when or how much chocolate you’re allowed to eat today.
You’ll never hear anything like this coming from me, cause that’s not my message for you.
I care too much about you to keep spreading the dieting culture which, I believe, is causing so much trouble in the world!

The consequences of years of dieting

In fact, I know that after years and years of constant dieting you’re scared at the idea of having an entire bar of chocolate in your hands.

You might be asking yourself if you are allowed to have one square (or maybe two!) or you feel like there are two voices screaming at each other in your head:
😃One says: “Come on, go for it, you deserve it!”
😠The other one goes:“You’ll regret it if you do afterwards! Because that’s not something you should be eating!”
😢Maybe, there might be even a third voice jumping into the conversation to say: “You’re feeling a bit down right now, and that’s what people do when they feel down, they eat chocolate!”

And the food industry knows it very well too! They are masters at using emotions to attract you even more. They convince you that’s what you need. Just by looking at the bar in my hands in the picture, you can see how the message it’s not even concealed a bit. It’s completely out there in front of your eyes: CHOCO-LONELY.

The bottom line

But Dona, what are you trying to say here?
What I’m trying to say is that, chocolate, like any other food on planet, is neither bad or good, is neither forbidden or allowed. And it’s not necessarily for the lonely, sad moments.

Unless you have a medical condition and your GP/consultant told you you should avoid some foods, there’s no reason why you should not trust yourself and have that food.

You deserve freedom from food, to trust yourself with all kinds of food.
You deserve to take pleasure in food and choose what you want to eat from a place of self-care, enjoyment and abundance…not self-control and restriction.

Healing your relationship with food and reclaim your life from dieting is possible. It takes time, I won’t tell you lies, but it’s possible.

Trust me, the freedom that you get from silencing those voices in your mind in front of a bar of chocolate is bliss!
